Harmony Day 2013 – How we celebrated at SDEPS!

Here at SDEPS we celebrated Harmony Day on Wednesday 20 March 2013 with an International Morning Tea – staff members were asked to bring in a plate of culture inspired food, it was a great morning and really reminded the school of Multicultural Australia. We had the iPads out and explored the interactive Harmony Day App – which was alot of fun! We also got into the theme and all wore a touch of orange! Have a look at the photos below!

Every year on March the 21st, Australia celebrates a day of cultural diversity. Known as Harmony Day, it coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In 2013 the theme is Many Stories – One Australia. Australia has set aside a day since 1999 to recognize and celebrate the country’s cultural diversity with a series of events. Harmony Day focuses on sharing aspects of the various cultures, faiths and languages that make up the nation.

At SDEPS we have students all over Australia and the world! Have a look at the map below to see just where our students are this term.
