SDEPS participation in National Simultaneous Storytime 2020.

Lucinda Gifford’s picture book Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas has been chosen for the National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) 2020.

Sydney Distance Education Primary School blitzes NAPLAN results

A primary school which specialises in teaching students who can’t physically attend classes has blitzed the latest NAPLAN results beating all bar 10 other primary schools in the state.


Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge runs from 2nd March 2020 till 25th August 2020.

The rules to the Premier's Reading Challenge have changed this year due to the virus. It makes it easier for students to complete the challenge.

  • Students on all Challenge levels are able to read 10 choice books.
  • Students on all Challenge levels will be able to include books on their reading records that they read collaboratively as a class, in person or online with their teacher or at home with their parents/carers.

Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards 2019

Congratulations to all the students who submitted a poem to enter the 2019 Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards. A special mention to Adele in Year 2 who received a Highly Commended award. All certificates will be sent to students with Semester 2 reports.

The Wellbeing Distance Education Network Conference

In Week 6 of Term 3, SDEPS was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to coordinate and host a wellbeing themed conference for Distance Education teachers across NSW.

Korean students Visit Week 7

In Term 3, four pre-service teachers from Seoul National University of Korea visited Sydney Distance Education Primary School.

In Term 3, SDEPS hosted 8 visitors from the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education in Korea.
